These six congregations make up the central grouping of parishes in Caithness Presbytery of the Church of Scotland.
They are also linked by the ministry of the Rev. Alastair Gray, who is parish minister of Bower and Watten, and, from the 11th December 2008, also of Halkirk-Westerdale. He is also Interim Moderator of the parishes of Canisbay, Dunnet and Keiss.
There will also be updated audio and video clips to enable anyone interested to keep up to date with the weekly life of these parishes by clicking on the links at the left or on the photos at the top of the page.
Together with a team of lay preachers, and sometimes of locally produced film ministry, each of the six congregations enjoys its own weekly Sunday morning services, children’s Sunday Clubs, a youth group, Guild meetings, prayer meetings, lively musical and choral groups, and provide a focus for community activities.
